I enjoy building full-stack web applications and developing software. I have highlighted my key technical skills below.
Here are some complete functional projects which demonstrate what I can bring to your project. I built these projects from the ground up to demonstrate my skills relating to front-end, back-end, security and database deployment. The .NET projects are full-stack web apps that have been built and published for you to demo them easily. Please feel free to contact me for a code walkthrough.
I enjoy learning new things and improving my programming skills. Coding challenges allow me to solve problems with code, but on a smaller scale compared to a full project. Each coding challenge is displayed in its own mini site which allows interaction.
Full-stack web developer, working on complex websites utilising AWS.
Headhunted to re-join the Capita acoustics team (now GL Hearn), to work on prestigious developments and huge infrastructure projects, supporting both the Manchester and London offices, and more recently working from home in Northamptonshire. Duties include project management, report writing, liaising with clients, processing large quantities of data, using complex bespoke noise modelling software, and mentoring junior members of staff.
I have contributed to, and improved the systems and processes of the team, by creating complex custom spreadsheets, VBA macros, and Python scripts. A number of VBA macros were written to assist with processing immense amounts of data, for a cross-company team on a section of the HS2 project.
Full time position with a range of responsibilities that encompassed project life cycles, from managing initial enquiries to generating invoices upon completion. Typical tasks included completing environmental and architectural noise assessments, and assisting with the training of junior members of staff. The projects utilised and refined skills such as data analysis, using a variety of bespoke software, report writing, teamwork and communication.
I also contributed to the systems of the company on my own initiative, including creating a complex spreadsheet, with numerous VBA macros, which processes massive amounts of site test data. This spreadsheet greatly improved the efficiency of generating test reports, and is estimated to save between 1 to 4 hours per project, on a weekly basis.
Full time role within the acoustics department of a multidisciplinary company. I had a variety of duties which included on site testing, undertaking environmental and architectural acoustic assessments, data processing, using bespoke software, and project management.
I enjoy taking online courses, here are some notable examples.
Headphone Awareness: A system was created, using speech recognition techniques and neural networks, to make users of headphones attached to portable media devices aware of potentially beneficial external sounds, via the inbuilt microphone. The system was developed using MATLAB and Xcode (C++ and Objective-C).
Learning new subjects and tackling challenges are activities that I am passionate about.
I enjoy developing software and scripts where I can, either for personal use or for friends and family. I have recently developed an Android App (available on Google Play), which incorporates custom Java and C++ code, and a modified Kotlin library.
In my personal life I enjoy hiking and exploring nature on a regular basis with my girlfriend. I also play the drums (try to), and when I have time, I play computer games to unwind with a particular fondness for puzzle games.
